The National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence in the Silicon Valley (NCADD) conducts SACPA orientations about recovery resources.  There are many paths to recovery, and NCADD covers the various options available in this county.  For those who have a difficult time at Twelve-Step meetings dealing with the notion of God being their higher power, NCADD's orientation describes the difference between religion and spirituality.

NCADD also provides an Addiction Worksheet exercise to help participants explore the different substances and behaviors they pursue addictively or compulsively.  Participants bring these completed Addiction Worksheets to their designated treatment programs as a tool to help them become pro-active about their treatment plans.

Finally, all participants receive information about other SACPA resources, together with a copy of the New Times for Addiction Recovery newspaper.
