ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
We all want the best for our kids and we all struggle to find the very
best strategies that we know works. Where do we go from here? The Prevention
field struggled for years to show that its programs were effective in
reducing youth anti-social behavior, like alcohol and drug abuse, and
in increasing healthy behavior choices. Today, leading researchers,
like Delbert Elliott, PhD, Conference Keynote Speaker, have demonstrated
positive results in evaluated prevention programs. Dr. Elliott and his
team, using stringent criteria, evaluated over 450 programs and selected
eleven proven programs they call Blueprints. This Prevention Conference
will highlight several Blueprint programs by bringing in practitioners
who implement these programs. The Conference also includes workshops
to build perspectives that will increase knowledge and skills helpful
in working together to replicate successful programs. Come learn more
about proven programs and leave with new tools and strategies.
CONFERENCE OBJECTIVES
To update what we know about the complex developmental needs at each
stage of a child's development and clarify what occurs when these needs
are not met.
To interact with the successful research-based programs
that best support development of healthy children.
To build awareness about how we can get beyond
networking to system integration in working together for truly integrated
health and human care service delivery.
